All of our teachers are certified through IBBFA. You will get hands on corrections and form modifications to ensure that you are performing exercises in the safest and most effective manner.

Susan (me) is the founder, owner, and lead instructor of New Ways Barre, a vibrant barre studio dedicated to helping others transform their bodies and lives through mindful movement. After experiencing the life-changing benefits of barre firsthand — from being unable to touch my toes to mastering the splits — Ifelt compelled to share this transformative practice with others. Barre has not only improved my physical strength and flexibility, it has also deepened my connection with my body and boosted my overall well-being. With over 10 years of barre experience, I recently became a certified Master Instructor through IBBFA, equipping me with the skills to lead others on their fitness journeys. My mission in creating New Ways Barre is to provide a welcoming space where people can build community, improve their physical fitness, and cultivate a deeper connection with their inner selves. I am beyond grateful to be part of your journey and look forward to supporting you every step of the way.

April Romano

Bio

April is a certified AFAA Group Fitness Instructor and Barre Above-certified Barre instructor with over 10 years of experience teaching Barre and more than 25 years in the fitness industry and is in the process of getting her IBBFA certification?. She is known for her motivating, form-focused approach that emphasizes precision, control, and proper alignment—while still making sure students leave class sweating and feeling empowered. April discovered her passion for Barre in 2014, drawn to its unique blend of strength, flexibility, and grace. She also holds a B.S. in Nutrition from the University of Maryland and is dedicated to helping others build strong, balanced bodies through mindful movement and wellness.

Lisa Cline

Bio

Lisa Cline has taken over 1000 classes since discovering barre following back injury a decade ago. She loves the ’shrink wrap’ effect of the barre methodology and its emphasis on posture. “I’ve grown a quarter of an inch!” Go-to positions include diamond thigh, side plank, and all those elongating stretches in between set-ups. She is certified by International Barre & Ballet Fitness Association (IBBFA) and works full-time as an advertising copywriter. `

Alix Lee

Bio

Alix is a seasoned barre instructor with years of teaching experience and a deep love for the practice. After taking a break from teaching when her last studio closed, she’s thrilled to be back in the studio sharing her passion for movement and mindful strength. Alix is currently working toward her IBBFA Barre certification, building on her previous certifications and experience in other barre formats. Her classes blend precision, energy, and encouragement—helping clients feel strong, balanced, and empowered.
